dock leaves

This seemed like an easy one to try.

If I'm being honest, I wouldn't rush to try these again with the same method. If I start experimenting with other mordants and dips then maybe, but the result was similar to nettle, but somehow not quite as rich. Although, as I look at it now sitting beside other colours it seems to be improved, so who knows!

The details:

gathered 784g fresh dock leaves
some rhubarb leaves from the garden to act as mordant

dyebath: 50g of roughly chopped fresh dock leaves and 30g of rhubarb leaves, left to boil for one hour

25g of unmordanted, soaked wool yarn
